Alex has started to say his own name, or at least his rendition of it: Ai'ai. He has also become very good at saying no. Alex likes to play with the keyboard, and because the control and alt key are within easy reach, Alex has made the computer do various things, including rebooting the computer. More>

 Alex loves to play hide and seek, and his current favorite place to hide is in a kitchen cabinet. He is also getting quite good at understanding us, and sometimes even listening to us. Alex is also beginning to experiment with words other than a consonant followed by a vowel. More>

 Alex likes to help, whether it is storing of groceries, installing a laminate floor in the kitchen. On Feb 16, we had 23 in (60 cm) of snow. Alex was not sure whether he liked it. More>

Alex has decided to start making a high-pitched screech when he is happy. Rob and Cindy are not very happy about this, because it is literally painful to their ears. Alex also loves going up and down the stairs (until the person watching him gets bored). More>

 Alex has enjoyed Christmas greatly. His favorite things were the uwrapping of the gifts, and being pulled fast on the sled in the snow. Trying to get Alex to eat veggies and seeing his table manners have become interesting experiences... He also likes to play, and manages to make almost anything into a toy (like our salad spinner). Alex' feet are becoming a more and more important part of his life: he likes to suck on his toes, he uses his feet to try and reach for something, and for some reason he likes to clap his feet! More>

Alex went on his first big trip, all the way to the Netherlands, were he was baptised. He has also visited the doctor for his six month checkup, and he is doing well. He is beginning to be interested in eating real food, and loves bananas and rice. More>

Alex has his first teeth, which he uses to nibble and bite on things, such as a small or a big toy, or mommy's chin. Another favorite activity of his is jumping, but he has to be held for that. More>

Alex is getting to be more and more fun to be around. He smiles a lot when he sees us, he loves to look around and explore the wonders of the world (such as clouds and trees). And because he has lots of things to explore at daycare, he seems to like it a lot there. More>

After three months at home watching Alex, Cindy had to go back to work, and Alex is going to daycare. Alex seems to like it at daycare, or at least not to mind it. Unfortunately, Alex has also got a mild cold and a bronchitis... More>

Alex has discovered his voice, and is making various kinds of sounds, from a melodious aaah-oooh-aaah to an uncomfortably loud scream. His sleep pattern continues to change as well, and he now sleeps 5 or 6 hours at a time at night. More>

 Alex visited the doctor for a regular checkup, and he is doing very well, and is much taller and heavier than most babies his age. Alex has also found some strange ways to sleep. More>
