Expressions.... by Alex
Alex is frowning, laughing, thinking, and being cute in our new kitchen. Don't you like the lovely green color?
Alex likes to help
Whether it is storing of groceries, or checking wiring in outlets, Alex loves to help, as you can see in the pictures below (the power was switched off, of course). Alex particularly liked to help when Rob was installing the laminate floor. Alex insisted on being in the kitchen to see what all the activity was about, and his preferred spot was precisely where Rob was working: he would come over to Rob, push Rob's arm aside, and crawl and sit in front of Rob to see what daddy was doing with that hammer, that large board, or that measuring tape. Alex's curiosity was piqued by the threashold between kitchen and living room. He was trying to lift it and play with it. Rob thought to be clever by stepping with one foot on the threshold to keep it in place, but Alex simply pulled harder... until the threshold snapped! Needless to say, Alex is quite strong! His interest in the groceries is quite convenient. Alex will happily ferry between garage door and kitchen time and again to bring the groceries to the kitchen, one item at a time. His courier services are not the most reliable, though: sometimes he gets quite interested in an item and starts trying to open it (especially yoghurt), or he takes it on a random course throughout the house, or he may lose interest, drop the item, and leave it to his puzzled parents to figure out where the cookies went. But fortunately, most things end up in the kitchen.
Snow and snow and snow and snow
On February 16, we had quite a bit of snow: 23 inches (60 cm) in one fell swoop. Although in past snowfalls Alex seemed to have fun with the white stuff, especially when being pulled fast in a sled. But this time it was a bit too much of the good stuff, as you can see from his expression... We also have more pictures of this record snow fall.
