Pregnant !?
"Rob, I am really in the mood for some salsa. I think I will go to the store and get some." Cindy said one evening in mid-December. Thinking that Cindy had gone seriously cuckoo would have been a normal reaction to a statement like that, especially considering that Cindy does not like salsa or going grocery shopping at all, but instead Rob's response was: "Uh-oh, time to get out the pregancy test".We had been trying for a bit, and strange cravings were one the first signs when Cindy was pregnant with Alex. Cindy did not believe she was pregnant, and thought doing the test would be a waste, but hey, the test was about to expire so why not humor Rob. A little while later she and Rob found themselves staring in disbelieve at a slowly appearing but quite distinct line! We are pregnant!
Bota!
Bota is the name for our son or daughter to be. Alex came up with this name. For a while, whenever we asked what someone's name was (and especially Rob's) Alex would happily answer: Bota! So when we asked what we should name his sibling while he or she was in Cindy's belly, he equally hapilly answered: Bota! And hence it is our pleasure to introduce... Bota!
Peekaboo
On January 8 we had got to see our baby-to-be for the first time through the sonograms taken by the doctor. Bota was about 8 weeks old at that time, and we got to see the heart beating!
Greenie
We have started telling Alex that a baby is growing in Cindy's belly, and that he will get to have a brother or sister. Although he does not realize yet what getting a sibling means, he is definitely sympathetic with Cindy on having a baby in the belly: he decided he also has a baby in his. There is an important distinction between the babies: Cindy's is blue, and Alex's is green. Rob's baby is also green, by the way... Yes, the whole family is expecting!
